POWER GENERATION PROJECT SERVICES

TriAxis has served as a design team member specializing in the electrical aspects of generation plant design, including protective relaying. Our generation project experience and expertise is in utility interconnection facilities.

Generation Development Assistance:

TriAxis has assisted generation project developers with preliminary utility interconnect concepts. The model uses construction cost estimates and facility layouts that often include step-up substations, switchyards, and transmission lines. We can help developers sort through requirements of the interconnecting utility:

  • TriAxis also assists with environmental impact studies and applications for certification that deal with the interconnecting facilities.

Design And Construction:

As the substation and transmission line designer working directly for the generation developer, TriAxis has provided complete designs for bidding and construction of the interconnecting facilities. Alternatively, TriAxis has developed comprehensive Bid Documents and specifications for turnkey (design/construct) projects.

Construction Management:

TriAxis supports construction observation and contract administration for generation projects. Examples of TriAxis’ power generation projects include:

Bailey Power Plant, Ketchikan , Alaska, owned by Ketchikan Public Utilities. Complete design and specifications, pre-purchase of engine generators, startup and commissioning; (3) CAT 820 kW gas engines, gas blower and accessories.

Coffin Butte Resource Project, Adair, Oregon, owned by Pacific Northwest Generating Cooperative, Portland, Oregon. Plant preliminary design, selection of contractor, SDC, startup and commissioning; MD 2500 kW diesel engine generator.
