TriAxis performed complete design of 115-12.47 kV, 12/16/20 MVA distribution substation tapping an existing Pacific Power and Light 115-kV transmission line. The 115-kV tap in and out allows for line sectionalizing in either direction. The sensitive hillside site, adjacent to a fish hatchery and the Lewis River, required special foundation considerations and the construction of a retaining wall to maintain acceptable yard grades. Special provisions were also required for transformer oil spill prevention.
