TriAxis provided complete design for 2 x 15/20/25 MVA, 115-12.47-kV distribution substation that tapped an existing 115-kV PUD transmission line in and out, providing line sectionalizing in either direction. The substation site had been previously filled, is adjacent to a slough, and had soil conditions with a high liquefaction potential. Special foundations were designed including concrete piles for the transformer foundations and an engineered backfill to bring the site to the required grade. Because of the high water table in the area, special consideration was required for the transformer oil containment facilities.
