ASPEN DISTRIVIEW 
Aspen's Distriview, a Windows-based fully-integrated package, is a leader in performing load flow, fault calculations, and protective device coordination studies. With this software we can easily and quickly build transmission and distribution system models, then use these models to study load flow and voltage drop scenarios. We are able to determine fault currents under different circumstances and easily examine the system of various fault types. By adding system protective device information (relays, reclosers, fuses, etc.), we can determine how the electric system will react to various types of electrical faults.
As an example, with Distriview, we were able to rapidly estimate fault currents to help a utility client locate a troublesome intermittent fault 56,000 feet from the substation. For another project, we were able to identify and suggest corrective measures regarding a miscoordination problem that was causing an entire substation to trip off line during feeder faults.
