LaPALOMA – MIDWAY
Buttonwillow, California
OWNER—PG&E NATURAL ENERGY GROUP
San Francisco, California
The LaPaloma project consists of two generating facilities, one 1200 MW and the other 360 MW feeding into and through a 230-kV six-position ring-bus switching station. Two 230-kV transmission lines interconnect 13 miles away into the PG&E Midway Substation.
TriAxis acted as Owner’s Engineer for this design-build project near Bakersfield, California. A design-build firm constructed the 13.5-mile, double-circuit twin bundle transmission line and substation. TriAxis provided preliminary engineering and technical input for the Application for Certification process and created procurement documents for the project, provided construction oversight for PG&E, and project management services.
