WILLOW CREEK 115-KV

Owner: Invenergy

The 115-kV overhead transmission line is 8.5 miles long and was built with single-wood-pole structures and braced-post insulator assemblies. The conductor is one 795 kcmil Drake ACSR and the line has one 48-fiber optic shield wire (OPGW). All angle poles are self-supported tubular steel (no guys or anchors). There were 17 line angles through a pivot irrigation farm. TriAxis determined the environmental structural loadings for this project and prepared the preliminary and final design of the project. Basic structure configurations were determined, along with pole heights, strengths, embedments, design guys and anchors to support the structures. TriAxis used PLS-CADD for plan and profile design. TriAxis services included specifications, bid document preparation, and services during construction.
